Hello, Welcome to ACancerSuvivor.com. I’m Ryan, the survivor behind the website. I am an adult survivor of a childhood brain tumor. I’ve found that part of my healing process has been sharing my experience through writing and speaking on the topic of survivorship and raising awareness for cancer research and funding.
Here, I share stories from my diagnosis, treatment and recovery but also what it’s like to be a long term survivor. Occasionally, I’ll also share other things I find interesting in the world of cancer research and survivorship and will bring in guests to share their story.
A few words to:
Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patients
Hang in there. Be strong and muscle through each day. What helped me get through my battle was a constant reminder from my mom to just take it one step at a time. Cancer can feel like a beast, a monster, a whale to take on. In that case, I remind you of Shel Silverstein’s advice on whale eating.
